1. Who we are

This website, american-guide.com (the “Site”), is an independent advertising website (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

We are not a home repair company. We do not perform foundation, basement, or crawl space work, we do not inspect homes, and we do not price or schedule any repair.

2. What this Site does

The Site publishes short informational pages about the cost of home foundation and crawl space repair. Each page ends with a single question about whether you own the home. If you answer yes, you are sent to the website of an advertising partner, where you can enter your ZIP code and request quotes from repair companies near you. We may be paid when a homeowner requests quotes that way.

Answering no does not send you anywhere. The Site simply shows a short closing message.

3. Information we collect

Information you provide. The Site has no contact form, no account signup, and no field where you type personal information. It does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, street address, or ZIP code. The only input it takes is which of the two answer buttons you press, and that answer is not stored on our servers.

Click and campaign parameters. Links that bring you to the Site may carry tracking parameters in the URL (such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, fbclid, and similar click identifiers). The Site reads these from the address bar and passes them, unchanged, to the advertising partner you are sent to, so that ad platforms can measure which campaign brought you. These parameters identify an ad, not a person.

Advertising pixels. The Site does not currently load advertising pixels, analytics scripts, or third-party cookies of any kind. It sets no cookies of its own for advertising or measurement. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before the change goes live.

Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., automatically records standard technical data for every request — IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps — for security and reliability. Your approximate country is derived from that IP address so the Site can be limited to visitors in the United States.

4. How we use information

• Measure which ad campaign and which version of a page brings traffic
• Understand aggregate traffic patterns
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and automated traffic
• Meet our legal obligations

5. Sharing of information

With the advertising partner. When you press yes, you leave american-guide.com and land on a partner website that is not ours. Anything you type there — your ZIP code, your name, your contact details — is collected by that company under its own privacy policy, not by us. We encourage you to read it before entering personal information.

What happens after you submit a request there. The consent text on that partner website authorizes repair companies to contact you by phone and text message about your project, and some of those calls may be placed using automated systems. That consent, and any contact that follows from it, is between you and those companies. We have no part in it and we cannot stop or manage it for you.

With service providers. We use Vercel Inc. for hosting. We do not sell your personal information for money.

6. Cookies and your choices

As described in Section 3, the Site does not set advertising cookies. You can still control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. To opt out of interest-based advertising across websites generally, you can use:

Some browsers and extensions send a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal. There is currently no single legal standard for how a business must answer those signals, so our systems do not respond to them automatically.

7. Data retention and security

We keep the limited technical data described above only as long as needed for the purposes stated, or as long as the law requires. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know what personal information has been collected about you, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Because the Site sets no advertising cookies and collects no information you type, the information we hold is limited to the technical data in Section 3. We do not knowingly sell personal information for money.

9. Other state privacy rights

If you live in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Nevada, or another state with its own privacy law, you may have similar rights to know, access, delete, or opt out of certain uses of your information. We honor valid requests under the privacy law of your state.

10. Who this Site is for

This Site is meant for adult visitors located in the United States. Visitors outside the United States are sent to a short notice page instead.

11. Children’s privacy

This Site is not directed to anyone under 18, it is not written for them, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
